Naama Schendar is a director, performer, film and theatre designer and educator.
Tutor at Goldsmiths and visiting tutor at the Royal College of Art (2015-current). Exhibited work in the Science Gallery, Dublin (2015); World Building Institute, Los Angles (2015); the Theatrescope, Kyoto Japan (2015); the Southbank Centre, London (2016). She has also participated in the Design Indaba Festival, Cape Town (2016), and the Montifiore and A-genre Festivals in Tmuna Theatre, Tel Aviv (2012, 2011 and 2015).
Her work utilises the media of performance, film and sensory theatre to discuss social-political bias. Using real-world and documentary materials, she often collaborates with people who hold personal involvement in the subject matter and who’s specific knowledge and experiences are entwined within the narrative of the work.
Schendar has also appeared in leading roles in film, TV, dance and theatre performances, worked as a video editor of documentary series, an art director in film, a creative and artistic consultant in various capacities, and a negotiation & crisis management guide.
Graduated with distinction from the Design Interactions course at the Royal College of Art in 2015 (M.A). Graduated from the Theatre and Film Design course at the Rietveld Academy in 2006 (B.eD). Speaks English, Arabic and Hebrew.
